FORT WORTH -- Patsy "Pat" J. Guinn, 74, departed this life Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
Service: 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth.
Memorials: Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Pat was born Sept. 23, 1937, in Big Spring to Jefferson Davis and Freida Koila Newton Grant. She graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in education and then later from TCU with a master's. She worked in the Fort Worth ISD for many years in the special education department.
While at Texas Tech, Pat met the love of her life, Joe W. Guinn. They later married June 2, 1958, and started a life and family in Fort Worth. She loved taking care of her family, but also enjoyed traveling, reading and going to the symphony in her spare time. However, her true passion was teaching, and she continued to teach life lessons to those around her well after she retired. There is a void that cannot be replaced now that she is gone.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Clair Guinn; and granddaughter, Alexis Sophia Guinn.
Survivors: Sons, Alan Guinn and wife, Kellie, and Brad Guinn; grandchildren, Anthony Dilsaver, Dane Dilsaver, Andrew Guinn and Grant Joseph Guinn; siblings, Koila Grant and Bobby Grant and wife, Peggy; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
